A number of our Specialist GPs have completed the RACGP's intensive, nationally recognised ADHD training program, making them qualified to assess, diagnose, and prescribe for ADHD in patients aged 10 and over. No referral to a psychiatrist. No prohibitive fees. Just experienced, knowledgeable doctors who take ADHD seriously.

  • You have attended a face to face visit at one of our Livingston Medical practices within the last 12 months or

  • You have a current MyMedicare registration with a Livingston Medical practice.

Unfortunately, complex mental health is an exclusion criteria for GP based diagnosis and management. 

It can only be ADHD alone without any complex mental health bipolar, drug resistant depression, schizophrenia etc.

We are unable to offer ADHD assessment or medication through this clinic if you have a history of any of the following, as these need the involvement of a psychiatrist:

  • Psychosis or a psychotic disorder, including previous drug-induced psychosis

  • Bipolar disorder, type I or type II

  • A current substance use disorder

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder requiring very substantial support (Level 3)

  • Intellectual disability

  • Anorexia nervosa

If any of these apply to you, this doesn't mean ADHD can't be assessed it means it should be assessed by a psychiatrist, who can consider ADHD alongside these conditions safely.  We'd encourage you to speak with your GP about a referral.
